Ghurka

Leather goods are about as timeless as high figures in tailored suits and a red dress on the red carpet. Ghurka's master artisans make a bad-ass set of bags and accessories and they make them to last. They're very passionate about having their products handmade by professionals so no need to get caught up on the "am I spending wild again?" because it'd be simply wild not to drop 5 to 10 large bills on one of these.  In addition, they have a Vintage Limited Edition portion to their website where they offer a selection of collectibles from their archive, thank them later. Oh, and starting this October they'll be even more accesible with a flagship store (apart from the 5th avenue one) opening on Prince. So in case the well executed photos of the bags on their website and 5th avenue goods showcased on a motorcycle weren't enough (then obviously you haven't got an eye for good leather),  give the SoHo store a look, they've got a keen way of showcasing, maybe you've got an eye for that.

Bien, Venidos

So, on account of the idle status of our blog for the past weeks, we'd like to share a few words:
Firstly, the what-for of our inactivity was the result of our vacation to Bali (and by that we mean Clayne's internet's vacation to Bali). Why doesn't Eaven simply blog, you ask? We go about our posts as a 75 year old couple goes about grocery shopping: without the husband's feta cheese and the wife's crisp all organic spinach leaves, the salad is not-a-go.
With that said, we'd like to take the initiative to formally introduce ourselves as though you're probably (not) wondering who is behind the wit of these posts (or attempted wit, at least).
There is Eaven, she's the kinder one, sparing mercy to all bad-news-fashion victims. And then there's me, Clayne, the not so nice one (although I try to be), you can usually tell when it's me by the overuse of commas and parenthesis. And when it's Eaven, by the friendly more welcoming words and less reckless punctuation. Nonetheless, we are the two and only writers behind the blog. Feel free to follow us on twitter, email us feedback, or simply read our blog.

Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M)

The Swedish multi-national retail company is expecting a good year with the upcoming collaborations in it's agenda. Personally we believe most high-end brands that collaborate with H&M produce very low end catastrophic pieces (last year's Versace was nothing pretty). Hopefully, this year with the collaborations of Mason Martin Margiela, Anna Dello Russo, and Lanvin, there's a turn around for H&M Collabs.

This is the only piece from the Lanvin collab, releasing November 20,  that I found to be remotely decent. All of the women's pieces and the rest of the men's looked like a Forever 21 collaboration (not a good one either).

H&M disclosed, with the preview of the image above, the collaboration with Anna Dello Russo for an accessories collection releasing October 4th. From the looks of it another Forever 21 outcome collection, i'm terribly excited to see the finishing pieces, emphasis on the terribly.

Lastly, the only collaboration i'm anticipating, an Autumn/Winter collaboration with Mason Martin Margiela to be released November 15th.
I'm interested to find out what will become of this collaboration, I don't expect anything less than colossal from MMM, but in works with H&M you never know.
It will be an opportunity for H&M regulars to get a taste of high-end pieces through the structural and exceptionally tailored works of Margiela.

“We are very happy to present Mason Martin Margiela pieces with H&M, offering a new interpretation of our vision. The democracy of our fashion has always been at the centre of our creativity, and the collaboration with H&M allows us to push this instinct further. We will bring together the contrasting universes of the two houses in ways that will surprise all.” -Mason Martin Margiela
